“All the groundwork is laid — we just need to get the funding in place so that we can start building… I want other kids and people to have the opportunities that Jenna had. It has been a huge blessing for our family to have the support of everyone, and we just want to get this done and do good work in memory of Jenna.”Lisa Parlette

With over $4 million raised and another $11 million requested through the Dayton Regional Priority Development and Advocacy Committee (PDAC), the Jenna Parlette Memorial Foundation is closing in on a momentous goal: The Jenna Parlette Running Center. This 127,000 sqft arena would showcase a championship caliber 8-lane 200m track, interchangeable athletic courts, and a 400m community walking track.

The impact is far reaching for this type of facility, the only state of the art indoor track of its kind between Louisville and Chicago. Planners involved in the project have received overwhelming interest from local high schools and universities expecting more than just track meets to fill the running center. The community is expecting upwards of 200,000 additional visitors each year for the many events the facility will host.

Wilmington College is now waiting on state support for the project and expects construction crews to break ground in 2021 and complete the project by 2022.

Read about the project in the recent article from the Dayton Business Journal.
